Had my veneers done and really didn't like the final result.they look too bulky and fake although asked my doc for the most natural look. Can you please suggest what could be giving this in-natural look and how it could be remedied? Thank you
Answer: Kathy Frazar This problem can only be solved by communicating with your dentist and letting him know you are unhappy with the result..Sometimes an esthetic adjustment can be performedto make your teeth look more natural by smoothing lengths of teeth or rounding corners to achieve a more natural look...Other wise a more comprehensive approach is done by remaking some or all of your veneers.

Answer: Post cementation changes are possible You have had a complete change of tooth shape-long, straight, very little embrasure space (space between the teeth) If your dentist took an impression now, the two of you could sit down with something as simple a pencil and the new stone model and start shading. You could visualize changes he could make by adjusting (taking some off) of the stone until you have the shape you desire. I think it will be closer to your old shape, taper and rounded edges. If you two agreed to the changes and they were not to extensive, he would then be able to use the stone model as his guide. Models are a great communication tool for dentists and great patients to come to a final result that's beautiful and functional. Good luck! Dr Ebner

Answer: Veneers Thanks for the photos!Your natural teeth had more curves to them. They were more feminine and petite.Your veneers are more vertical and straight. The midline may be off, compared to your natural teeth.Go back and speak with your dentist and see what he or she can do for you.

Answer: Don't like my veneers, look too fake The design of your veneers was incorrect for your age, sex and facial features. Your lateral incisors are too long and narrow, your central incisors are too long, and your canines are too pointed. The edges of your veneers are two square and should be more soft and rounded to give you a more feminine look. Your two front teeth should be slightly longer than your lateral incisors to give you a more youthful appearance. The color of your veneers appears to be a little too opaque and the translucent affect at the incisal edge does not look natural . Unfortunately to correct all of these problems your veneers should be redone . If you decide to have them redone, hopefully your dentist has saved your preoperative models . I would recommend having a diagnostic wax up created to give you an idea of how your new veneers will look. When your old veneers are removed, this wax up can be used to create temporary veneers that should mimic how the final veneers will look . A model and photos of the temporary veneers should be sent to the lab to guide them in fabricating your new veneers. You should also discuss with your dentist the color that you want and have him provide details for the lab
