I want Vaneers but i have 2 extra baby teeth that never fell out, which may never fall out. But would I still be able to get vaneers with these 2 extra baby teeth in my mouth?
Answer: Veneers over over-retained baby teeth Yes. In many cases we have covered and restored beautiful Veneer cases with residual primary baby teeth being present. Radiographs, overall oral health and bite relationship will need to be examined to be sure this would work for you.

Answer: Veneers over baby teeth are an option Hi, and thanks for your question regarding placing veneers over your baby teeth. As it appears from your pictures, it looks like you never lost your primary (baby) canines. It is actually more common than you may think to see adults with some primary teeth still in their mouths. Sometimes the primary teeth have long roots, and are very stable, and sometimes they are not. The first thing to consider is how much bone support those teeth have. If there is little to no support, then I would recommend against placing a veneer. The reason would be that once you prep that tooth, and place a veneer, the forces applied to that root will change, and you could easily lose that tooth. That would not be good if you just invested a few thousand dollars on veneers. If the baby teeth DO have good bone support, then yes, a veneer would be a good option to improve the appearance of your smile. You must also consider one other very important thing when looking at those teeth, and that is the gumline. As your teeth look right now, even with a new veneer, the tooth will probably be small. The reason is that the gumline never developed properly when you did not lose that tooth. It is quite likely, that in order to improve the appearance of your smile and those teeth, you might also need a minor gum surgery to lift the gumline in that area. This is something that must be discussed with the cosmetic dentist, and possibly a periodontist, that you choose to improve your smile. Please don't ignore this factor, as this might make all the difference in your final results. Best of luck, Dr. Alvarez

Answer: Porcelain Veneers over Baby Teeth In many cases, my dental practice has successfully placed porcelain veneers over baby teeth. Veneers would also give your teeth the chance to align with the natural part of your tooth. If the teeth are solid, porcelain veneers over your baby teeth could be a natural fit. Digital pictures and x-rays will be needed to make sure that this is the best solution for your situation. Make sure to find a licensed cosmetic dentist who is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry who will be able to craft your new porcelain veneers matching them to the rest of your natural teeth. Good luck with your new smile!

Answer: Veneers and baby teeth Hello. It all depends on how ankylosed your baby teeth are in your mouth. If they have no mobility and are strong, you can defiantly place veneers over them. You need to see an experienced cosmetic dentist to do this. Good luck.

Answer: Cosmetic Dentistry and Porcelain Veneers Thank you for your question. Generally speaking, porcelain veneers are a great idea to improve your smile. This would be better diagnose with x-rays; but generally, yes we can place veneers over a baby tooth. The veneers would create a façade to make the tooth more even and aligned with your adjacent natural tooth. Choose a great cosmetic dentist who can color match them perfectly.
