7 mos. after bilateral DIEP flap reconstruction, my abdomen continues to be puffy/swollen when I get up in the morning sometimes, after pilates, housework, walking, on my feet much of the day, and at the end of the day. Is this normal? is there anything I should/can do? My PS seems more focused on the results of the breasts!

If you have an active urinary tract infection, you cannot undergo an abdominoplasty.  You need to have a quantitative urinary culture done.  Once your urinary tract infection is cleared (with the proper antibiotics) then you can undergo surgery safely. Best of Luck, Gary...

You do not necessarily need to have surgical tape on your incision.  You should discuss your situation with your surgeon.  Alternatives include surgical glue (Dermabond), antibiotic ointment, or nothing at will with just clean dry bandages.  So, there are many options....

Your surgeon should be informed and he may elect to remove the area of any scar that might  be  I the area. It should present no problems.
