You can walk and you have to after 2 weeks, and must avoid lifting heavy loads for 3-4 weeks. If you are not a heavy worker approximately minimum 15-20 days of is needed.

You will not be back to full activities for at least 6 weeks, and if you do much walking and bending, you will need at least 2 weeks off from work.
