Seven weeks from breast redction. I am having pain and spasms in upper arm.
Answer: Pain and spasms There are many things that may explain your findings. I recommend an in-person discussion and examination with your surgeon to evaluate what the cause may be and what treatment (if any) is indicated. Many times, postop changes just take longer to resolve than any of us would like. Time is a great healer. Talk with your surgeon. I hope it all resolves for you.

Answer: I am having pain and spasms in upper arm after breast reduction. Is this normal? Thank you for your question and I am sorry to hear of your issues. I would see your surgeon for an in-person evaluation and discussion of your symptoms. Hopefully through a physical exam a diagnosis can be made and treatment offered. Though not common, pain and spasms may be the result of positioning of your arms with surgery, stiffness of the arms due to limited arm mobility after surgery, irritation of nerves as a result of skin stretch/swelling, and a number of other possibilities. Voice your concerns with your surgeon, they are in the best position to help you.

Answer: Pain Hello dear, thanks for your post and provided information as well. It is not uncommon to have muscle spasms, however, at 6 months they should be subsiding. Muscle spasms usually are gone after a couple of weeks. There are some large sensory nerves in the lateral aspect of the breast pocket and these can be irritated. These symptoms virtually always go away with time but it can take many months. But check with your doctor to be sure there isn't any other issue.Good luck :)
