It is generally not necessary to use vitamin E oil with BioCorneum because BioCorneum already contains everything needed for optimal scar healing. BioCorneum is specifically designed for scar care, and adding vitamin E may not provide additional benefits. Typically, BioCorneum is applied twice daily for about 3 months starting around 2-4 weeks after the surgery or incision. In general, scarring is a product of genetics. Some people are good scar formers and others are poorer scar formers. There is no one best therapy for scars. Silicone sheets, Mederma, and Biocorneum are reasonable and popular options. It truly depends on whether the scratch is on the inside of the lip or on the outside. It is not intended for tissue inside your mouth. However, if it is on the outside then applying it twice daily would be safe.
