There are several options that will help with this kind of contour deformity. Injectable fillers are relatively simple and less invasive, but temporary. The longer lasting ones may not last more than a year. Autologous fat grafting (micrografting) may soften the appearance of the indentation and give you long term benefit without revising the craniotomy site. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon and you will decide on the optimal solution after a direct exam. Best wishes!
sorry this happened. fat grafting is a better alternative to any kind of fillers. once the surface is smooth then we can address the discoloration
We have had excellent success filing small craniotomy defects with microdroplets silicon 1000 for permanent results. Your indentation appears to be large so the suitability of such procedure would require an examination. Hope this helps and wishing you well. Dr Joseph
The indentation is fairly significant. I would recommend fat grafting, bellafil. or sculptra to fill the area
Fillers would do an excellent job in refilling this indented area of the forehead/temple. Temporary fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm could be used and would last about a year. For a longer lasting effect (5 years) a product like Bellafill would be recommended.
I have treated several patients such as yourself and have found that Sculptra usually is the best treatment for this area. Since it is a liquid injection and produces your own collagen you should have great results and are able to inject it in this area without any lumpiness that a filler can cause. Please consult an expert in Sculptra for the best cosmetic results. Best, Dr. Green
Hi thereThanks for the photos. In my opinion, you would benefit from a cranioplasty using a bone substitute. It would appear that you have had bone removed and replaced which had died or partly re-absorbed. You should see a craniofacial surgeon to get some Ct scans and to replace the missing bone with either a bone substitute or a titanium prefabricated, moulded sheet.I hope that helpsGood luckDr Mark Hanikeri MBBS, FRACS (Plastic Surgery)Perth Specialist Plastic Surgeon
There are several different options for you to improve this area. Fillers could help improve the transition which will likely improve the look and long-term fillers may do quite nicely. A very thin implant could also improve a large area but still may require to fillers to help with the edges. Revision craniotomy and replating of the bone is also a possibility but that is a big surgery. I hope this helps!
I understand you had one syringe of filler in your eye troughs and it looked to you (which is what counts!) like your cheeks sagged and puffed and it did not resolve with two sessions of hyaluronidase so you are not pleased with current result but also do not want filler again (hard to do again...
Nodules or inflammatory reactions after injection with the Juvederm Vycross fillers have been reported. Juvederm Volift is marketed in the US as Juvederm Vollure. I have seen a handful of cases of these reactions in individuals treated with the Juvederm Vycross products. These reactions have b...
Thanks for your question. Stylage is a dermal filler available in Europe and elsewhere. It is not FDA approved for use in the US. It is against federal law for a physician or other provider to import from another country and then inject non FDA approved products. This is not to say...
