Still trying to understand the role of fillers and cheekbones. I have low cheekbones and a relatively flat face. When I make a big smile, the cheekbones are on the level of my lower nose. I feel that if Juvederm is significantly injected into the upper cheek area that this will lift my lower cheeks and make them appear less bulky. In doing that, will my face become distorted by technically having an upper and lower cheekbone? I'm confused as to how the filler masks the lower cheeks.
Answer: Cheeks Hello,Thank you for your question. When put filler in the cheek, it will round out the area and pull your face up. When injected correctly it will flow with your natural cheek. It sits above and lateral to your natural cheek bone. You may want to consider using Voluma. It is Juvederm product better suited for the cheek. As always make sure to consult with your physician to determine the best course of action. Good luck!

Answer: Cheek Augmentation Candidate with Fillers (Radiesse, Voluma, Bellafill), Sculptra, implants, fat I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert to go over your desired results. Facial sculpting and contouring of the face can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra, which would give improvement in facial balance and symmetry. Implants or fat are alternatives. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: I have lower cheekbones. If I get fillers for higher cheekbones, will my face look strange with two types of cheeks? Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. Though a full series of photographs to assess your facial appearance and proportions would be useful to offer definite advice, fillers can help subtly alter a patient's facial structure promoting enhancement of your underlying skeletal anatomy. Though your yellow arrow is too high for cheek development you can pursue addition of filler between the yellow and red to offer a more defined appearance to your cheeks. Assessing your lower cheek region for fullness will also be important to further refine your results. Hope this helps.

Answer: Voluma and Sculptra Thank you for your photo. You may want to consider Voluma or Sculptra. Sculptra is an injectable treatment that functions as a volumizer and causes your body to produce its own filler. It is used to add volume to the face. Sculptra is a purified treatment of poly-L-lactic acid. When injected in the face, it stimulates your body to produce additional collagen, which will fill in the desired areas. Your body will begin producing collagen after a few weeks. Most people get 2-3 treatments to achieve ideal results. Once achieved, these results may last up 2-3 years. Voluma is a filler and derived from hyaluronic acid which is a moisturizer found naturally in your body. For more information, please get a in person consultation with a board-certified dermatologist.

Answer: Cheek fillers Thank you for your question and for submitting your photo. It's difficult to make a complete assessment based on single a side photo. That said, based on what you are describing, you may be a good candidate for dermal fillers to lift and contour your cheeks.Generally speaking, one of the main reasons (in addition to genetics, sun exposure, etc) we start to notice sagging of central face area is fat loss, particularly in the lateral cheeks. Injecting fillers in this area helps replace some of the lost fat, and can subtly lift the cheeks and contour the jawline. I often prefer to use Voluma in this area rather than Juvederm, as I feel it provides better lift and is a longer-lasting product. I think it's also important to remember that men have different facial structures than women, and improperly placed filler in men can actually feminize the face. I would recommend scheduling a consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon with experience in men's aesthetics to discuss your concerns. Best of luck!
