7 weeks post Rhinoplasty- when will I stop sounding so nasally?

I had a rhinoplasty on 1/11/17. My results have been subtle and gradual which pleases me. However my voice still sounds nasally particularly when singing. My nose does still feel a bit swollen inside. I use saline nasal mist and I also take allergy medications. How long will this take to resolve?

Congratulations on your rhinoplasty, Liviluham!
Since you’re only 7 weeks post-op, it’s normal to still have post-operative swelling. This is the reason why your voice still sounds nasal. 
Give it a couple of months to heal and the nasal quality of your voice would also gradually go away. Don’t forget to also attend your follow-up consultations with your board-certified plastic surgeon to aid your recovery.

This may be related to the swelling inside your nose and can take several months to subside.  Be patient.

Thank you for the question! It is rather difficult to fully evaluate your situation without an in-person exam. In all likelihood, the change in your voice is due to the post-op swelling you're describing. Sometimes your voice may also be affected by crusts of blood and mucus that remain inside your nose after the operation. It may take from 6 to 9 months for swelling to resolve completely. When it does, the nasal quality of your voice is likely to disappear. If it does not, you should definitely consult your plastic surgeon. An in-person exam with a board-certified plastic surgeon is always the best way to fully assess your needs and address your concerns.
