This would clearly have to be approved by orthopedic surgeon. I'm not certain I would feel comfortable introducing ultrasonic energy that creates thermal damage as part of the technique. I think conventional liposuction with small cannulas is a much better choice.
Liposuction is a very safe procedure and patients with knee replacements have undergone the procedure in the past.
You should expect some changes from the first couple weeks to the last week in terms of swelling reduction. The final results should take 3-6 months. I would consider discussing with your plastic surgeon how much more swelling reduction you might be able to expect.
I typically recommend that my patients wear a compression garment for a few weeks after liposuction. Every surgeon is different with their post op directions to their patients so I would follow your surgeon's direction for after surgery. Good luck with your recovery!
