Mole removal using shave left crater on nose - what would you recommend? (Photo)

Hi Everyone, I had a mole removed using a shave and it has left a huge crater on my nose. Is there a way to fix this and would you recommend given its location?

The borders of the scar are quite abrupt and "broad shouldered." So, light electrodessication or TCA CROSS can be used to create a more gradual border to the scar. Subcision can be used to elevate and smooth the base of the scar. And finally, if necessary, professionally performed, Dermastamp microneedling can be performed to address any residual surface color and texture abnormalities in order to better blend the surface better with the surrounding normal skin. Be sure to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist with scar treatment experience, and be cautious when being presented with relatively expensive, faddish, "bells and whistles" fraxel laser and RF options, as the hard science for these lags woefully behind the heavy marketing to promote them. Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.
