Hello Doctors. Unfortunately I have got this long and prominent scar from getting up from the floor and then beating my back shoulder against a sticking metal used to put padlocks. It bled a lot. Now I have this scar that really bothers me, everytime I look back on the mirror I see it on my upper back. I have tried bio oil, sunflower oil but it’s not helping it. Which would be my best option to get rid of this scar? Lazer or surgery? Would it be expensive? Would the results be satisfactory? Tyvm

Answer: Resurfx laser for scar paid with a chemical peel and melarase creams to help with pigmentation
Scar maturation takes at least 1 full year. However, scar revision (cutting the scar out and closing it back up), steroid/5FU injections, microneedling, and lasers can all be used to improve the appearance of a mature scar. Tethered, depressed, wide scars often require a scar revision.
