Hi, I current have 500cc implants (14.4 base / 4.4 projection) I am needing to have replaced. I am 172 cm and 82 kg. I would like to be slightly smaller and have a lift. My Dr has suggested a 12cm base and offered Motiva ergonomix either 340 moderate or 400 full. My question is if I go the 400, once lifted will they project too much? I don’t want to go too projected but also don’t want to be too flat as I am tall and curvy.
Answer: Breast augmentation mastopexy I prefer moderate implant with a mastopexy. Higher profile implants put pressure on the skin envelope.

Answer: Implants Since you have 500 cc's now which is probably too large for your frame and tissue, I suggest going down to 400 cc's. Photos would have been very helpful. You are going smaller so you will be less full than you are now.

Answer: Bellesoma Method Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs. The breast lift technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery. This procedure will help maximize your projection with smaller size implants. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Moderate or full projection with lift The decision on implant size and projection should be based on your specific body characteristics and desired outcome. Your surgeon is the best person to provide advice tailored to your situation. Communicate your aesthetic goals and concerns clearly with your surgeon to find a size that complements your frame and achieves the desired look after the lift. They can offer insights into how different implant sizes may affect your final results, considering factors like your height, weight, and desired level of projection. Best of luck !

Answer: Implant selection Implant selection is best done together with your provider. If your provider is leaving you with questions, and I suggest you go back and discuss your concerns further with him or her. Giving suggestions for implants choice out of context is probably not very wise. If you have questions about your provider, then I suggest it’s never a bad idea to have multiple consultations before scheduling surgery. Each plastic surgeon will have their own method for guiding patients through implant selection. The following are some general guidelines for finding the right provider. These are written primarily for those having primary procedures, and they should be applicable for secondary procedures as well. To find the best provider, I suggest patient schedule multiple in person consultations with experienced plastic surgeons in their community. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous patients who have similar body or facial characteristics to your own. An experienced plastic surgeon should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. An experienced provider should in fact have hundreds or preferably thousands of before and after pictures to choose from for commonly performed procedures. Being shown a handful of preselected images, representing the best results of a provider’s career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results will look like in the hands of each provider. There is no correct number of consultations needed to find the best provider. The more consultations you scheduled the more likely you are to find the best provider for your needs. Take careful notes during each consultation, especially regarding the quantity and quality of before and after pictures. It’s not a bad idea to bring pictures of your own body/face to use as reference when reviewing before and after pictures. The biggest mistake patients make is scheduling only one consultation without properly vetting or comparing providers before scheduling surgery. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
