Hi! I am a 26 year old female, 5'3" weighing approximately 150lbs. My weight has fluctuated over the years from 180lbs to as low as 135lbs. Even at my smallest, I've had stubborn back fat/bra line rolls. I believe the weight fluctuations may have cause some loose skin in the area as well. What are my best options for removal? Is there a less invasive alternative to a bra line back lift? Thank you!

Answer: Bra Line Excision The only way to effectively treat these areas is a formal bra line excision. This removes the excess tissue from the lateral aspect of the upper back and the lateral breast area. While the scar can be relatively long, it is typically hidden well in the bra line, hence the term "bra line excision."

Answer: Back rolls From your photos you will likely have some improvement with liposuction and J Plasma for skin tightening. If you are wanting your back to be completely smooth then a back lift can be performed which would involve a horizontal scar that runs along the bra line. I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for an evaluation and discussion of your goals.

Answer: Consider the back lift! Thank you for your question and the photos you provided. After weight loss and gain as you describe, the skin loses some of its natural elasticity. So after liposuction, your skin might not snap back like you’d hope. As always, I recommend having a formal consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon, as they can go over your medical history to assist with figuring out that best plan for your back. With that being said, I would recommend a back lift to obtain a smooth contour and highlight your curves. A back lift is a great option for someone with loose skin on their mid back such as yours. Scars are hidden under your bikini so no one will know! Good luck!
