Question

I got rhinoplasty 4 yrs ago. Soon after my operation there was a small bump of cartilage that developed on the left tip of my nose. This Cartilage never healed and it makes my nose look very crooked. my nostrils are very uneven. In photos, my nose often looks crooked + bump often catches the light!my surgeon said that he can try to remove it but that there is a risk of the cartilage growing back bigger?!? Help :(

It is very difficult to answer this question without photos or being able to examine you, but there is no way to soften cartilage without actually removing or reshaping it surgically.Your surgeon would have to assess whether that would be advisable or not and weight the risks and rewards of a revision surgery.

I think that you need to post photos at a minimum, or at least be seen in person to determine what the issue is and how it potentially can be treated.

It is unlikely cartilage grafts will grow back after trimming. Without pictures it is impossible to evaluate your diagnose of the cause of the unsatisfactory tip contour. Another option is to consult with another surgeon to get a second opinion.
