Which Nd:Yag Laser performs best for laser hair removal from dark skin? Fewest sessions? Least painful? Less risk for burns?

I recieved services for laser hair removal but after 6 sessions it's not that much hair removed. I have dark skin - and they put me on a Sciton laser then switched to a Light Shear (painful and not effective) . I want to go to a place where they have the best Nd:Yag laser as a normal dark skinned women.

Cutera is generally known to have the best Nd:YAG technology. Another option to consider is a diode laser like the Alma Soprano Ice which should be safe in most skin of color except Type VI skin. Good luck!

The longer yag laser beam is definitely the best option for skin types 5 and 6.  The gentlemax pro laser works very well.

Hello, we use the syneron candela gentle max pro which includes a 1064 wavelength (yag) for darker skin.  It's very important that you go to an experienced provider that can treat your skin appropriately.  Keep in mind that laser hair removal is a process and patience is key.  With darker skin the energy needs to be lowered as to not burn the patient which means more sessions are necessary.

You are correct Nd-Yag laser work best for skin people, the one after that is Diode lasers. The best way to find out is to call your local spas or cosmetic doctors offices and ask which kind of laser they use for hair removal.
