Had a BBL 1 week ago. My pre op buttocks had large indents, possibly fat damage. Now after BBL my left cheek has a rectangular bulge that is soft and not getting any smaller. Per doctor, he couldn't separate the pre existing indents and it was hard to fill my buttocks with fat. He said he never seen anything like this before. Have anyone seen or experienced anything like this and will revision bbl help to fix this?
Answer: Fat Necrosis after BBL Thank you for your question and the photos you provided. You likely have fat necrosis in the area of your left buttocks. This can happen unfortunately when cellulite bands are corrected during BBL procedure. The fat added to your left buttocks over filled space that was once a fibrous band causing your cellulite. Once you are all healed from the BBL you will most like require aspiration of the dead fat in the area of your left buttocks. Some patients require multiple aspirations to correct this issue. If your current surgeon has not seen this before, you may want to consult with someone who has and is a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!

Answer: Rectangular bulge of buttock after BBL Hi and welcome to our forum! There appears to be more to this story. What was the cause of the preoperative symmetric indentations of the midbuttocks. You mention that there may have been previous fat damage? If of hereditary origin, the bulge may represent the result of injection into an area fibrous banding during BBL causing localized overcorrection or herniation of fat into a superficial plane. If the result of a buttock lift or inner thigh lift , it may represent the result of injection into areas of previous scarring. As you are only one week out, one must rule out the possibility of seroma or hematoma with examination (and perhaps a needle aspiration). Otherwise, this fullness may partially or totally resolve on its own. After 6 months, if it persists, small cannula lipoaspiration of the localized area may be of benefit. 15% of cosmetic procedures require a secondary touch up.Maintain close followup with your plastic surgeon.Best wishes...

Answer: Liposuction revision The definitive correction for liposuction deformities requires the advanced technology of ultrasound assisted VASER liposuction. As an official trainer of VASER liposuction, I encounter suboptimal liposuction outcome referrals weekly. VASER liposuction has been the only modality that has consistently corrected liposuction caused deformities. VASER liposuction ensures a smooth contour regardless of severity of contour irregularities by virtue of being able to remove any and all remaining fat comprehensively and uniformly. Finally, when skin redundancy irregularities are observed, Renuvion technology can be simultaneously applied to tighten your skin to optimize your overall contour outcome. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a VASER specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
