Is this dent on my arm caused by lipedema, swelling or normal fat disposition? (Photo)

To properly diagnose you need to have an in person consultation with a diagnosis by a doctor who is knowledgeable/ epert in diagnosing lipedema. Lipedema cant be diagnosed by photos. It requires a physicial exam and most importantly other diagnosis need to be ruled out often with an Ultrasound. There are some unscupulous operators who throw out lipedema diagnoses by looking at photos and it is unfortunate because many of the women dont truly have lipedema. Some have other medical conditions and dont get proper treatment.

From you photos Abnormal shape of soft tissue need MRI for investigation of cause.The denting of soft tissue has multiple causes, to address this and find a proper treatment, firstly you may need to have investigation such as MRI or ultrasound.

It’s difficult to give you an accurate assessment of the contour irregularity on your arm.
I suggest you consult with plastic surgeons in your community if you want to discuss getting an evaluation and or possible treatment options.
This may just be a normal anatomic variant.
It’s not uncommon for people to develop growths of fat called lipomas.
That would not count for a deficit of fat.
I’ve seen a lot of different fat distribution on arms, and sometimes people just have an abnormal distribution.
Getting a history if this has changed overtime and getting examined might be helpful.
