Is this lipedema? (Photo)

I've had big legs, arms and calves/ ankles since I can remember, only symptom I really have is the physical appearance of my legs, they are quite lumpy but it only “hurts” when I press with quite a bit of pressure, it’s not a light touch. Does this look like lipedema on my arms and legs?

Thank you for your question and photos. Based on these photos, you do have lipedema of your arms and legs. These are best treated with liposuction to reshape your calves (bring out muscle definition), narrow the lower leg and define the ankles. The arms need to be treated the same way to give you a smaller, more athletic arms. You might need a skin tightening procedure like Renuvion at the same time, but that decision is based on an in person physical examination. See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques, since these surgeries require more attention to detail to achieve a good result. Good luck.

Looking and your photos and reading your symptoms it is quite possible that you have lipedema on both your arms and legs. The principal specialists who diagnose lipedema are Venous and Lymphatic Specialists and Vascular Medicine Specialists.  However, some endocrinologists and primary care doctors are familiar with and can diagnose Lipedema.  The key is to find a doctor who is familiar with Lipedema and comfortable making the diagnosis of Lipedema.   Lipedema is a systemic disease and for best results it should be treated comprehensively starting a low carb anti inflammatory diet and medical grade compression . Surgery can be helpful for those women who symptoms are not adequately controlled by the non surgical means. Yes, this is lymphedema. Based on your posted photos. The superficial lip techniques are best done for these areas and two separate operations either the arms first or the legs first expect these to range from $10-$12,000 per session. Best to virtual consult with.
