This is a hard question to answer because every patient is different and is concerned with different areas of their body. The age of the patient plays a big role and the areas of concern. Younger patients are interested on their waist and abdomen while older patients are more concerned with their lower and upper back, inner thighs, and flanks.

Hi Asia,A BBL involves liposuctioning areas of your body with excess fat and transferring the fat to your buttock to increase the volume and projection.  It also involves liposuctioning the lower back and surrounding buttock areas to really contour the shape of the buttock which also gives its it the appearance of being larger and more defined.Fat is usually taken from the abdomen and flanks.  Depending on your particular shape and contour desires fat sometimes is also taken from the back, legs and even the arms. Fat can be harvested from many different locations for a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure.  It all depends on how much fat is located where.  It also depends on the individual and their genetics.  Some patients only accumulate fat on their abdomen & flanks.  Other patients accumulate fat all over, but in much smaller quantities, so on those type patients, I have to harvest the fat from multiple locations.  Be sure to consult about your BBL procedure with a board certified plastic surgeon.  At your consultation, they will be able to tell you what areas of your body are good candidates for the surgeon to take the fat from.

Fat can be harvested from many areas: arms, chin, abdomen, back, flanks, thighs, etc.
In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less.
l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.

Excellent question. Without  photographs it is very difficult to comment on where the fat would be harvested in your case. Common locations include the abdomen, flanks, and back. Liposuction in these areas helps improve the overall contour of the buttock region while the fat harvested improves the projection directly.All the best!

The commonest sites for harvesting fat are the flanks (love handles) & the abdomen as contouring these two areas enhances the overall outcome of the surgery & achieves more complete body contouring. The other areas for fat harvest are the bra rolls, thighs, arms, any other site where fat can be removed from without overdoing it.
