How long until Hematoma goes away?

I am 7 weeks post op and My PS told me I developed a hematoma on my right side. Every week it has been getting smaller and going away very slowly, but I'm wondering how long it will take. I'm worried I may need additional surgery to take the hematoma out or that the hematoma will leave my right side more stretchy because it's taking longer to heal.

Swelling can last as long as 6 months postop. The fact that it gets worse as the day progresses indicates that it is still swelling. I would follow your plastic surgeon's advice.
