I’m 38 and suddenly lost fat in my face so fast, that my skin didn’t keep up. I have a mild degree of laxity on my lower face. I’ve had 6 Microneedling sessions, but no noticeable results at all. I have an unnamed autoimmune disorder with dry skin and rashes. Does Microneedling just not work on some people?

Hello, and thank you for your question. If it was general microneedling, this can only help so much with skin laxity. This is better suited for fine lines, texture, anti-aging. If one is looking to help with volume loss/skin laxity, a different type of microneedling is usually recommended, such as RF microneedling. This type of microneedling uses radiofrequency (RF) energy for deeper tissue heating, which can lead to more dramatic results, that can in turn help with skin laxity. Most sessions, whether microneedling or RF, require 3 sessions to start and maintenance thereafter. Each session should be approximately 4-6 weeks apart. I would suggest consulting with a provider that can offer several methods of skin tightening so they can determine which treatment option is best for you!
