Should I get two different implant sizes for each breast?

All breasts are different right to left before and after any surgery. They will never be 100% identical, especially without a bra or clothing.

Some breasts are very different sizes and can achieve better symmetry with a larger implant in the smaller breast- and a smaller implant on the larger breast.

In my experience, I like to use temporary sizers during surgery to confirm implant choices made pre op.

Further consultation with your/a plastic surgeon are recommended so you feel comfortable for your procedure.

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Thanks for your question! I would suggest seeking an in-person consultation. It is very difficult to make a judgement via telemedicine on sizing (especially with that dramatic of a discrepancy). But that doctor is suggesting using 415 on one side and 485 on the other. Those are full profile gel implants so those would be the "final fill volume". Good luck!

Implant size discussion and implant selection is one of the most important steps during your breast augmentation consultation with plastic surgeon. The decision-making process depends on patient’s desires, as well as breast and soft tissue dimensions.

In some patients, different size implants are needed to achieve symmetry, especially if patient has different size breasts to start with.

Hello and thank you for your question! It is common for plastic surgeons to use two slightly different sized implants when you are already starting with two differently sized breasts. Simply put, we put the larger implant on the smaller breast and the smaller implant on the larger breast to get to two more evenly sized breasts as a result. An alternative would to be perform a small reduction of the larger breast and then place two similar sized implants. These are just different ways to get try to get to the same result: two aesthetic appearing breasts that are as close as possible in size and symmetry. Good luck on your journey!
