Is this cartilage collapse and roof deformity? (Photo)

Question

I had rhinoplasty over 7 months ago. I got kenalog shot tu supratip 7 weeks ago and develop radix irregularities and left side deformity. Is this high lateral cartilage collapse and roof deformity? I have 4 dents on radix from rasping. If so, how I can fix it? I mean what needs to be done during a revision?

Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from your photos you might have a cartilage deformation due to the previous surgery. It cannot solved with injection because it is a surgery defect. It can be solved only revision rhinoplasty surgery. If you can provide photos with better lighting, from the side of your face and 1 meter away I would be able to make a proper evaluation. It would be more convenient to decide with face-to-face consultation. Best Regards!

A steroid shot in the tip would not cause irregularities up higher in the bridge. As swelling goes down over many months, small irregularities can become more noticeable. These are best treated with fillers first, to see how it would look. And then silicone can be placed for a permanent result if you liked it. Be sure to see an expert injector for consultation.

Based on your photos, you appear to have an indentation along the left side wall of your nose and visible irregularities at the root of your nose. Depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon-1000 may be considered for achieving a straighter nasal appearance and for camouflaging the bony irregularities. I hope this is helpful! Hello and sorry for your disappointing results. It is possible that the deformities resulted from dermal atrophy following the steroid injection. Occasionally this can be reversed by irrigating out the depot steroid with saline. Or they sometimes manifest as the post-operative swelling resolves. Usually depressions in the upper one third of the nose are bony in nature that have been unmasked. Deformities such as yours can be corrected with either onlay grafts of fascia or cartilage, depending on the extent of the deformity.
