Allergic reaction to eyelash extensions - how long will it take to recover?

I had natural long lashes but got extensions Loved them, but the 4th time lids became very itchy, red and swollen - sensitivity to the glue? Got a steroid shot & using Tobradex & had them removed. My own lashes are half gone after 6 weeks of extensions. Perhaps from the inflammation rather than traction alopecia? I am going to use Latisse but cant start til the inflammation on my eyelids improves. Will my lashes grow back & how long will that take? Are allergies to extensions common?
