Feet swelling after TT surgery. Is this normal?

Thank you very much for this very relevant question. This does happen every now and then. There can be two possible reasons or a combination of both the incision can be very low and swelling can compromise the lymphatic drainage of the legs in the groin area.  Most of the time however it is a very tight compression garment that will cause construction of the lymphatic drainage. I would suggest for you to elevate your feet if you are not walking and take of the compression garment  for short time to see if it makes a difference. Speak with your plastic surgeon about it. Hello,Thank you for your question. Some temporary swelling in the extremities can be normal post op however this should be significantly resolved by 3 weeks. Swelling can persist in the abdominal area for 4 months or more.  I recommend that you let your plastic surgeon know if you have ongoing concerns. All the best 

Thanks for sharing your question and concerns with us. Its normal to feel swelling at this time of your post op and its normal to have more swelling one side than in another. I recommend you to follow all your surgeon advices and to keep in touch with him. Get well soon.

My recommendation is to follow up the instructions that your doctor gave you and let him/her know everything that concerns you. You’re still in the healing process and it is normal that your legs may swell at times. But if the swelling continuous and you start feeling other symptoms like pain, redness or warmth than you should definitely call your doctor. Best wishes.

It is not unusual to have swelling around the lower limbs after abdominal surgery. Best to see your PS to check the garments etc are not too tight.
