The main risk (also one for passengers without surgery) will be the possibility of developing a clot in one of your deep leg veins, DVT, that could travel to your lungs (Pulmonary Embolism). Venous blood clot risk factors include sitting for prolonged times (for example prolonged plane flights or road trips) obesity, oral contraceptive use, sedentary lifestyle, familial clotting disorders. to minimize this from happening to you, I would keep hydrated, wear TED stockings, walk around often and frequently, keep your legs elevated if possible and mover your legs, ankles and feet often while sitting. You should discuss your concerns with your surgeon to see what is best for you. #flyingpostop#tummytuck#TT
You may fly after 24 hours of having lapband surgery if the flight is less than 3 hours. Thank you for your question.
You should be fine to travel after your initial recovery period is over. I would also consider where you are flying. You will need to be prepared with your stage specific post surgical foods (for example will you be on pureed foods?). Every patient is different, so it's very important that you speak to your doctor about your individual case.I hope this helps, best of luck and safe travels!
Should not be an issue at all. We have patients that fly in for us to do the band and fly out a few days later. Just walk a lot on the plane, drink lots of water, and don't forget to take some aspirin.
Wait 4 to 6 weeks. If you are breast feeding, you need to consult with your surgeon and anesthesiologist since some medicines given during or after surgery can cross into the breast milk. Please do your research, the band is on its way out. we may not be doing any more bands in...

Yes, this can happen at times.Sometimes we close the portsite with a stitch which can cause discomfort later. You tend to get more pain on the side port (below the ribs) than the middle port.
