can an EGD tell me if my gastric band slipped?

I have severe heart burn, vomit frequently , and am unable to eat. I cannot get an appt for over a month to my surgeon. I work in a hospital and spoke with a GI Doctor who has scheduled and EGD for me, Researching this, it states an Upper GI series is required to determine band slipping

The band should be replaced by a surgical procedure but before you do the procedure, you should see a doctor first and need evaluation.

If the pain lasts after adjustment , you need to be checked by your doctor because it may have slipped or erosion. The band may be removed or have pulled it up if yes.
