Depends what kind of work you do.If you are sitting most of the time, one weekshould be enough time to recover from a band.
Hello, DearThank you so much for your question, after a lap band you can return to work in 1-2 days. Best regards
1-2 days after the band that will be ok to return to work unless you have any problems but it will take at least 1 month to back to normal.
In general Lap-Bands are put in as an outpatient surgery, so you're up on your feet, home the same day sleeping in your own bed that night and certainly being active and moving around in the first few days is critically important. People typically are able to go back to work after five to seven days. If your pain threshold is less you may be able to go back to work a little earlier but in general thats the time frame I would recommend taking off from work if you can.
The best test to see if the band has slipped is an upper GI X-ray. Endoscopy is useful to see if you have band erosion, but your symptoms are not those of erosion. GI doctors do scopes for a living and make money that way. Scoping is their hammer. You are the nail.
Gallbladder removal is the most common surgical procedure done, and having your gallbladder removed previously is common. The scar tissue is typically minimal, even with the "old fashioned" open type surgery. If you have a gallbladder that has stones in it, and has caused difficulties then...
The band should be replaced by a surgical procedure but before you do the procedure, you should see a doctor first and need evaluation.
