I am 64 and just had series of three microneedling sessions. How often should I have them to maintain results?

Typically a minimum of 3 microneedling treatments are completed before you begin to notice results.  Results will vary, but the idea is that the more treatments are completed, the longer the results will last.  We normally recommend 6 treatments once a month ongoing for 6 months. You can do this entire regimen again 6-12 months later or 1 microneedling session every 3-4 months to maintain results.I recommend speaking with a physician specializing in facial aesthetics before beginning any facial treatments.All the best,

A course of 3-6 of microneedling treatments are recommended for best results. You could either carry on having monthly treatments, or every other month in between facials or alternatively 6 monthly.

     I would try to do 6 treatments per year. As we age, our collagen and elastin production slows, and eventually stops. At 64 this process has greatly slowed. Because of this, we typically recommend more treatments than we would for someone younger. I would recommend a series of 3 treatments followed by a 3 month hiatus for healing. I would then repeat this process perpetually. This should SIGNIFICANTLY slow the aging process in the surface layers of your skin, softening fine lines, pores, texture, and restoring the vibrancy. Hope this helps.

Once you have achieved your optimal results from the series of microneedling treatments, we typically recommend repeating a treatment 1-2 times a year based off of your budget and schedule! You can of course do more than that, but you will at least want to do it once a year to continue with the result!

After a series of microneedling treatments, we recommend continued daily use of a human growth-factor serum and twice yearly follow-up microneedling treatments in the office. We use the ProCell Therapies system which combines motorized microneedling with concentrated growth-factor serums made from human stem cells. Our patients also use growth factor serum at home after the office treatment.A nice alternative would be twice weekly treatments using an at-home microneedling kit from Célage Bioscience. This kit will enable you to do home microneedling treatments using a similar growth-factor serum derived from human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.
