I have spoken to my surgeon and want to see what other surgeons suggest. I have endometriosis on my muscle wall and want it removed during my tummy tuck. It causes me a great deal of pain and bloating can this be done
Answer: Surgery Yes, your cosmetic and gyn surgeries can be performed at the same time if both surgeons agree. The fibroid will be removed first and then the abdominoplasty will follow.

Answer: Combination of procedures Dear Magical109017, I understand your concern. It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others. Answer: We need to know the location and extent of endometriosis with a CT scan. Abdominal muscles are two sided: one side looks up to the skin and one side looks to the internal organs. So we need to know the exact location of your endometriosis and also the extent of it. So it can be decided if it is a good idea to endometriosis surgery alone or with tummy tuck. This can be understood with a CT scan.

Answer: Combined procedures I’m assuming you have an OB/GYN who is going to do a laparoscopic biopsy procedure. This could be done in conjunction with a full tummy tuck if both surgeons agree and have facilities at the same operating room location and can and are willing to coordinate their schedules. Please check with each of your surgeons. Best Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Can endometriosis of the abdominal wall be removed and abdominoplasty be performed at same sitting? Hi and welcome to our forum!Endometriosis has the ability to spread to other organs, as it already has in your situation. Removal carries a risk of seeding other tissues. Opening wide the entire extent of abdominal soft tissues at the same sitting is not recommended as it exposes these tissues to possible seeding.Separate these procedures by 6 months or so. Remove the endometriosis deposit first as it is symptomatic.Best wishes...
