Does Kybella just not work for some people? Or do I need more treatments?

Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.

Keep in mind, Kybella is good for dissolving the submental fat under the chin area while contouring the jawline and making the chin more defined, but a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options. Hi! There's no question that it does work. The only question is how much you need and how many treatments. I find that most of my patients require 4-6 vials per treatment and 3-4 treatments. I wouldn't say you're wasting your time, but you may simply need more. Hope that helps!

Kybella is just not very effective, and cannot get rid of fat deposits located below the platysma muscle in the neck, which many people have. Liposuction can accomplish removal of fat deposits above the muscle, while a surgical neck lift is required to remove the fat deposits underneath the platysma muscle which also includes a platysma-plasty to significantly improve the jawline. Please submit a full set of facial and neck photographs to make the right determination.

Kybella is inferior to Liposuction by every standard. It is also unpredictable and has more complications, is less effective and requires multiple treatments compared to Liposuction.
I suggest having a few in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons in your community.
Without including pictures we can’t make an assessment.
The majority of individuals seeking removal of fat from the chin and neck area have insufficient mandible size and projection.
Many of the individuals seeking these treatments don’t have an issue with fat distribution and fat is not the underlying cause.
If the problem is related to bone structure and how the platysma muscle drapes the neck then removing fat isn’t going to fix the problem so that may be a reason why you didn’t see improvements.
