Without seeing pictures, we can’t make an assessment. Without an assessment, we can’t really give you valuable information or recommendations. I would not focus too much effort on differentiating various forms of Liposuction. In the end, all types of liposuction are fairly similar and the difference in outcome has a little to do with the equipment and everything to do with who is doing the surgery. Individuals will have significant skin laxity should generally focus on the skin laxity more than access subcutaneous fat. Skin laxity has a way of being perceived, as being fat when it is in fact skin. Understanding your candidacy for skin tightening, and Liposuction is the key to getting quality outcomes, including setting expectations correctly. Personally, I don’t think body tight is indicated, especially if you’re having a skin tightening surgery. The procedure is notorious for under delivering in my opinion. In general, there are two variables to determine the quality of cosmetic surgery outcomes. The first is patient candidacy, and the second is the skill of the provider. I suggest you focus all your efforts on finding the best provider and understanding your own candidacy for the various procedures. Do not choose providers based on what equipment they use. As a general rule of thumb plastic surgeons have the equipment they need to do their job correctly. The difference in outcome and cosmetic surgery procedures is not related to Equipment , but rather patient candidacy combine with the skill of the provider. These are the two single variables that matter, and I suggest patients focus all the records and understanding there candidacy and choosing the best provider. Choose providers by having multiple in person consultation. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients, who had similar body characteristics to your own. Being shown a handful of pre-selected images, representing the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider. And experience provider should be able to show you the before, and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients of commonly performed procedures like a tummy tuck or Liposuction. Generally speaking, weight loss, patients need skin surgery a far more than they need Liposuction. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
