Question

There is still a lot of fat on my body, my buttocks don't look as round as I hoped, there are 4 scars on my back, two on my hips, and 2 on my stomach. I hate them, I feel so self conscious, even more than I did before my surgery. I've been feeling depressed, and don't know what to do. I expressed this to the surgeon about a month post-op and he said to wait. I haven't heard from their office ever since. I spent a total of $8500 on this surgery, my entire savings. Not sure what to do from here.

Surgery should always be about improvement, because perfection cannot be obtained, even though certain pictures can appear to make it that way.  I make the fewest number of incisions possible, because I know that some patients have an issue with scar healing.  In addition, revisions for BBL make up 60% of the cases I perform.

I'm sorry to hear you are unhappy with the results.  I am not sure what you looked like before the surgery so it is hard to say about the final results.  With any surgery there will always be scars but they will cont to fade with time.  Any time you do liposuction there is a risk the skin will become looser, the only way to tighten skin is to cut it off which requires more and longer scars.  The areas on your back that you might think is fat could be just loose skin.  With any plastic surgery, the surgeries can not change your natural anatomy like the hip bones and intra-abdomen fullness, these restrict the final result.  Please discuss your concerns with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

Realistic expectations are what I review with patients prior to surgery. Small incisions are necessary for harvesting fat and injecting fat. Review your results with your surgeon if you are unhappy.
