At almost 4 months PO why haven't all of the dissolvable stitches on comumella fully dissolved yet, and what should I do?

Almost 4 months now and a bit of my "dissolvable" stitch on columnella is still there. From what I can see and feel, it seems that there is only about 1mm left. Last month my PS said leave it or try to pull it out, either is fine. It is too small to grip with tweezers so I'm left waiting for it to dissolve. I'm afraid that if i leave it for longer it will affect how my scar heals. It is pretty secured in my skin, and I don't know if there's more under that my skin has just grown over.

As long as there is not inflammation or a noticeable bump, I'd recommend that if this suture does not easily get removed that you leave it for now.  Make sure your surgeon is kept aware if anything should change.

I would advise you to just pay a visit to your plastic surgeon to have them remove the suture. Not a big deal, right?

It would be best to go and see your surgeon and ask them to
remove the stitch for you, they can take many months to dissolve, however if
you are concerned it would be best to go and see them in person.
