Did one treatment in June not satisfied with results... considering trying again but was wondering what happens to tear trough depressions if I stop getting them filled? Not sure about having to repeat this process on a yearly basis. And wouldn’t want to make them to look worse if I discontinue fillers.

Answer: Long term tear trough filler Hello and thank you for your question. Once all the filler has dissolved, you will return to your natural state. Fillers do need to be repeated yearly to maintain. For more permanent result consult with a board certified cosmetic surgeon to discuss your goals. Good luck to you!

Answer: Trying Again with Tear Trough Filler Without knowing exactly what your problem is now or what you had in June I can give no real advice. However, there are several problems with your question. If you were not happy with the results in June, why did you not go back or see someone else to determine what the problem was. I generally make sure my patients are satisfied before they leave the office or, if there is a question of possibly underfilling, have them return in a few weeks to reevaluate the area. Secondly, treating the tear troughs yearly is ridiculous. You should treat this area with a heavy filler like Juvederm Voluma or Radiesse, the latter lasting usually a minimum of 18 months and the former 2 years. In fact, I have had Voluma last over 5 years. The one advice I can give you is that you need to see an expert in treating this area as probably greater than 75% of injectors treat it wrong.
