How many liters of fat can be taken out during Lipo360 with exchange of breast implants? (Combo surgery)

Question

I was going to do lipo360 alone and have 4L of fat taken out. Now, I added an exchange of implants from saline to silicone to my surgery and I hear I can only have 1L of fat taken out. Is there a way to still do 4L of fat? BMI 31

Florida has specific laws about limits of liposuction with “additional” procedures depending on the level of credentialing of the surgical facility. It’s to prevent complications related to fluid balance in the body after surgery.

Thank you for your question. The bottom line is no, there are safeguard laws in Florida that forbid this. The easy way to get around this is to just break your procedure up into two surgeries. Have the implant exchange in one operation and then do the liposuction in another surgery. I’m not sure why the breast surgery impacts the amount of fat that can be removed through lipo. It’s something you should ask your surgeon. Maybe he or she thinks it’s too much to do at once but I don’t see the problem with it.

you are right, there are regulations which prevent a combination of excessive liposuction and other elective procedures at surgery centers. In order to get 4 liters liposuction and implants exchange at the same time, you will need to do your surgery in hospital. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

It is obvious the surgeon/s you have seen are informing you of the very strict office surgery rule in regards to combination of surgeries. Specifically the rule only allows 1 liter of liposuction (supernatant fat amount) if in combination at the same surgical operative setting with other body/face parts in surgery. Thus your requests for breast implant exchange (most likely capsular surgery?/lifting?/etc) with 4 liters of liposuction, which btw is max amount allowed in Florida, can NOT  be done in office surgery setting. If doing outpatient hospital surgery than this could be accomplished. Fees would be in the $13,000++ranges. Hope this offers you more understanding
