had one treatment 8 weeks prior went great , this time I could feel immediate burning on the right side floor of my mouth by the time I was ready to check out I was talking funny the r side of my tongue felt weird , now I have swelling and lots of pain under my tongue . my gums hurt so bad I cant (only front bottom ) brush my teeth , I can feel tiny bumps also under my tongue . do you think its possible the kybella was injected into the mental nerve ?

I recommend following up with your Doctor. This may be due to swelling, which will slowly resolve over several weeks. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your question. I would recommend scheduling a follow-up appointment with the physician where your Kybella was injected. It is difficult to say what is going on and could range from inflammation and swelling putting pressure on the nerve to an actual nerve injury. Mentalis nerve injuries usually resolve by 6-8 weeks but they can persist for months beyond that. They may consider treating you with systemic steroids to reduce the swelling and inflammation.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
