usually, I have my patients wear compression socks for about five days postoperatively. It is important that the patient removes these and re-applies them a few times a day, say for a couple of hours, for comfort.
Generally the compression socks are for the times when you are not so mobile. It would make sense to wear them regularly for the first two weeks and when you are sitting at rest. After two weeks, if you are moving around more and not so stationary all the time, then you can start to just use them when you are at rest for a further 2 weeks. If you are getting back to your normal routine by then, you can leave off the compression socks. I hope this is of help to youBW
You should wear them about one week, during the period when you are mostly resting and lying supine as opposed to walking. Once you are walking comfortably and regularly you should remove them. Make sure they are not constricting you in the calf region.
Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. There are a number of reasons why your surgeon might require a compression socks after surgery. The most important reason is to help prevent blood clots. At least 10 days. I recommend you discuss any concern with your board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck :)
Thank you for your question. Every plastic surgeon has their own post operative protocol that they recommend their patients follow. Please refer back to your post operative instructions. If there is no information available, please call your surgeon's office and ask. Typically it is best to wear the leggings or compression socks for no less than 1 week post op, but many surgeons may recommend longer.
AS always, you should consult with your surgeon for your post-operative care instructions. However, I typically have my patients were their compression socks for 5 days. Be sure to discuss with your surgeon all of your concerns. Best wishes.
Thanks for your question. I typically ask my patients to wear their compression stockings for 5 days after surgery. Many surgeons are different with their post-operative instructions however, and I suggest that you contact your plastic surgeon's office directly. They will be able to make a personalized recommendation for you based on your procedure. All the best with your recovery.
As long as your operative revision surgeon wants you to. Best to asking only him to advise on ALL your immediate postoperative issues.

Medical tourism certainly has its proponents but your story is a lesson to all about the risk. Aspirating your own seroma at home after tummy tuck is a potential disaster as is self medicating without a proper examination and professional guidance. Help is spot on, and you should see a plastic...
And being as thin as you are does not help. I'm not really sure anything can help at this point. Hind sight is 20/20 they say and I would not have done a tummy tuck as you had, preferring instead to resect your belly button with the tummy tuck, leaving a vertical scar then later, do a r...
