Fever after a month of lipo, is this normal? Should I be concerned about an infection?

Thank you for your question. I would recommend you follow up with your surgeon in regards to  your fever.  You want to make sure there is no infection going on.  Best of luck to you. 

Hi, thank you for your question. This is most likely not due to the liposuction, but an infection is certainly possible. I would advise you to contact your surgeon about your symptoms and have an in-person evaluation.

This is unlikely due to Liposuction. However, if it persists, I recommend following up with your Doctor. You may also have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Hello, thanks for the questions.While there is a process of edema and inflammation, combined with therapies for lymphatic drainage, it is possible to make a fever on some occasions, I think it is not an infection if with a simple analgesic the fevers have subsided. Usually the common bacteria are incubated or symptoms begin to be felt after 48 to 72 hours postoperatively. Only in some cases with some special bacteria that their growths do after 15 to 30 days that start their incubation., I think it is not your case because there are other signs and symptoms that accompany them. It is important to have a blood count and a PCR, a blood culture in case you notice the fever. You must communicate with your PS. for your follow-up. I hope that my answer will be very useful. While the fever may only be due to absorption of blood products, I would see your surgeon to be sure all is well and good luck.

Any time you are experience unusual symptoms following surgery such as fever, rash, chills or unusual swelling, it is a good idea to call your surgeon.  It would be best to be evaluated for any complications. 

After a month postop very unusual to relate a fever of unknown origin to the liposuction. Best to seek in person medical examination fir other sources of infection, i.e. urine, virus. Best to obtain a blood count ASAP.

Fever is a common sign of incipient infections. You should rule out any infections of the incision ports from the liposuction or buttocks area if you had fat transfer as well as abnormal redness of the skin.
There is a low probability that you have an infection of the surgery site after one month.
You should also rule out any urinary or respiratory infections that have fever symptoms.
