Does Coolsculpting work for reducing the size of my buttocks? (Photo)

Question

I had a liposuction 2 years ago and the size of my buttocks is just too big. I went to the doctor who perform my surgery and he told me that cannot perform a liposuction to reduce the size of it because my buttocks was going to drop. I'm looking for options like CoolSculpting or any other technique to reduce the size of it .can you please help me!

While Coolsculpting effectively reduces fat in many different areas of the body, the buttocks is NOT a recommended treatment area. The device is, however, FDA cleared to treat "banana rolls", or fat underneath the buttocks (where the buttocks meets the upper thigh).

Coolsculpting is not able to treat the buttocks itself, but only the banana roll below the buttocks. Consult with an experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeon to understand your options.

Thank you for your question.  Coolsculpting will work on the banana roll under your buttocks but not on your actual buttocks.  In fact by treating and diminishing your banana roll, it may make your buttocks appear even larger.  Likely the best intervention for decreasing the size of your buttocks will be a surgical approach, please follow up with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.  Regards, Dr. Matt Elias
