He ended up putting 385 in the left and 415 in the right. Are they always going to be uneven or do i need to wait until they drop and settle to see if they even out?
Answer: Before my surgery, my boobs were uneven. Today (3 days post op) my left boob is still bigger than my right. Is that normal? Thank you for sharing your question. After placement of implants, the overall appearance of the breasts will change dramatically over the next several months, as the implants drop, and the overlying tissue stretches to accommodate the extra volume. This is especially true when different size implants are used to improve upon preexisting volume differences. I know waiting is difficult, but judge your results at 4-6 months after surgery as most of your breast changes should have occurred by then. Hope this helps.

Answer: Breast asymmetry You had different size implants placed in asymmetrical breasts. The chances of exact symmetry are small, but as the tissues adjust to the implants hopefully your symmetry will get better and better. Give it a few weeks. Remember they will be sisters not twins. Good luck.

Answer: Asymmetry after breast augmentation Hi and welcome to our forum!Congratulations on your very recent surgery! You are two days out....following the procedure, it will take 6 weeks for the swelling to subside and 6-12 months for the tissues to soften and the implant to fully adjust into position. It is far too early to assess the result of your surgery. Perhaps there is more swelling on one side than the other (when in bed, the more dependent side may be more swollen). Perhaps one side required more extensive tissue dissection than the other, resulting in more swelling. I recommend that you continue followup with your surgeon. Communication between patient and physician is the most important aspect of postoperative care. Ask questions...get answers...Best wishes...

Answer: Uneven breasts! Dear jcmommyof2, breast asymmetry is one of the hardest things to correct. The reason for this is that breasts are different from each other in many ways, not just volume. Making up for the volume difference with different sizes of implants is a difficult guess and it's rarely accurate. By your description it seems that your left breast was larger to begin with so the difference that you still see may be due to the fact that the larger breast swells more after surgery because it has more tissue to swell. The correction will not be seen immediately although the difference between them should be less noticeable. It could be that the difference was underestimated and the correction will fall shy of satisfactory and would need to be redone. Often when the difference between the breasts is more dramatic volume adjustments with implants of different sizes is not enough or it may work against you. In your case the difference between your implants is 30 cc. If you need a greater difference then the smaller breast will be expanded much more than the larger breast accentuating the shape difference between them. It's not easy. Sometimes one or both of the breasts need to be lifted or reduced. Give it time and talk it over with your surgeon.
