Hi ! I’m 27 days post op ,had a breast lift with 400cc saline implants high moderate under the muscle . Today I finally take off my surgery tapes, everything around the nipple seems nice but then , under the breast is like a horror movie . I know I need to heal more but the look that I have right now is very depressing. I’m worried that I got keloids , I’m worried that this will not get better . I got some photos , please I need your opinion and what treatment should I get . Thank you!
Answer: Scar concerns At nearly 4 weeks post op, you have a great deal of healing ahead of you. Swelling will resolve and soft tissue will recoil and settle. Contour irregularities are common. While there is no guarantee, much of what is concerning you will settle and evolve over the next several week. I discourage patients from passing judgements on their results before 3-6 months. Scar concerns are typically the last to settle with scars not reaching full maturity until 12 months or more.Based on your photos alone, you appear to be healing well. My recommendation is "tincture of time" (i.e. patience). Given time most scars will flatten, soften and fade. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

Answer: Scar Dear Gunsdarose, For scars, I close all of my incisions in 5 layers and do not use absorbable sutures because they cause inflammation and worse scarring. I tape all of my incisions in the office visits once a week for six weeks after surgery to improve the appearance. After taping, I start my patients on a scar gel therapy for 3 months that they have to put on their incisions twice daily. You should discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon as different surgeons have different approaches in scar management. Answer: Concern 27 days after breast augmentation and lift Hi and welcome to our forum!Your photos appear to demonstrate an excellent early postoperative result. The incisions are sealed and are healing well. There is no evidence of thick scarring or keloid. The breasts are relatively symmetric. Swelling is not excessive. There is no evidence of infection. The scars will take 6-12 months to mature and fade.Every plastic surgeon has his / her own postoperative wound management protocol based upon their years of experience. Follow his / her directions for incisional care.Best wishes...

Answer: Scarring Congratulations on your procedure! Time to take a deep breath and allow your body to heal. From your photos, you appear to have a very nice result and are healing quiet well. What you are noticing is not keloid scarring, but a part of the normal healing process. You may want to ask your surgeon about a silicone scar treatment program.

Answer: Breast lift Thank you for your question and photos. You need to be patient and give this some time. You do not look like you are getting keloids and it is too early to get keloids anyway. Follow their scar protoccol and you should heal well. Best of luck to you.
