Acanthosis Nigricans on inner thighs?

I suffer from Pcos and I have black inner thighs and I do mean black, it's burnt. I lack self confidence due to this, it's embarrassing. I was wondering if it's possible to have surgery to it removed like an inner thigh lift??

Thank you for your question regarding acanthosis nigricans on the inner thighs. Regarding your question, it is possible to remove excess skin and fat of the inner thigh. Without a physical examination or pictures, this is a difficult question to answer. However, if the acanthosis nigricans is to the inner thigh, this can be typically removed. It can either be removed with a vertical medial thigh lift or even possibly a crescent thigh lift. The location of the scar depends on where the pigmented skin is located. Acanthosis nigricans is dark, thickened skin that occurs in the creases of the body such as the groin/inner thigh region.  It is more common in patients who are overweight, and after weight loss patients may have loose skin remaining in the inner thigh region.  A medial thigh lift could be possible to remove this affected skin for such patients who are medically suitable.  I would recommend an in-person consultation to better evaluate your surgical options and make specific recommendations.
