Sun exposure has no affect on the longevity of lip filler. Lips that have dried out after lengthy sun exposure can have a different appearance however. Also mentioned in this thread, dehydration could be a contributing factor. Best wishes to you.
It's unlikely that one day at the beach would dissolve filler. HA filler is attracted to water, so this may be due to dehydration. Rehydrate with plenty of water. Hope this helps.
This may be due to dehydration. I recommend drinking lots of fluids. Otherwise, I suggest touching base with your injector about your concerns. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for sharing your question. UV radiation does not impact the duration or size of your dermal fillers when placed into the lip. More commonly you had some degree of dehydration take place that caused them to appear a bit smaller. Hope this helps.
Lip fillers should not be affected when someone is in the sun. It is possible that you became somewhat dehydrated in the sun, and this could temporarily reduce the size of your lips but should not affect the filler.
Exposure to the sun, particularly excessive sun exposure, can contribute to the breakdown of hyaluronic acid-based lip fillers over time. It’s important to protect your lips from sun damage by using sunscreen or lip balm with SPF. However, a single day in the sun is unlikely to significantly reduce the effects of lip fillers, but long-term sun exposure can impact their longevity.
Thank you for your question. Sun exposure will have no immediate or long term affect on fillers. HA fillers are attracted to water, so if you are not well hydrated during a day in the sun, they could potentially look smaller. I hope this helps.
The only rational reason as to why your lips may have gotten smaller after being on the beach is because being in the sun may have caused some dehydration just like it would in the skin in general. As soon as you put your moisturizer on and drink a few glasses of water, your lips will rehydrate. Good luck from New York City
It is very unlikely that sun exposure diminished the filler in your lips. I hope this helps!
