Can a septal extension graft be removed to have my nose feel less stiff and more softer/natural again?

So i had my revision rhinoplasty 1 year ago, my surgeon added a septal extension graft which resulted in my nose being extremely hard (like a rock) and it's really taking a toll on my mental health. I just can't live with this rock nose forever. Can a revision be done to remove these grafts and have a softer nose again?

From the little I know so far, you had a revision, where a septal extension graft was added, and now the nose is rock hard.

The fact that it's taking a toll on your mental health argues in favor of evaluating you to see if there's something surgical that can be done.

It really would take some photos, and probably an in-person exam, to determine that. For example, it might not BE the extension graft that's making the nose hard. It might be the way that the tip was SEWN to the extension graft that's making the nose hard, and maybe that can be changed without the complication of removing the extension graft.

It would be important to see what the nose looks like now, and how it might be different (appearance-wise, not hardness-wise) from what you ideally want, or what you would be willing to change. That would help the surgeon in determining whether the extension graft can just be removed, or changed somehow, or a million other things. Get it?

Hello and thank you for your question. A septal extension graft can be removed during the revision to produce a softer feeling result.  With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
