Can a septal extension graft be removed and replaced with a columellar strut graft for tip support?

The septal extension graft is making my nose extremely hard and stiff and i will like it removed. Can it be replaced with a columellar strut graft so the tip isn't as hard as a rock while still having some sort of structure?

From board-certified doctors and trusted medical professionals
Thank you for your inquiry! I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon to create a surgical plan targeted towards your specific goals.

The fact that it's taking a toll on your mental health argues in favor of evaluating you to see if there's something surgical that can be done.
It really would take some...
Given that you are 5 months post-op, I recommend that patients wait until they are 1 year out to allow for adequate healing and to see final results before considering revisionary surgery. If you are unhappy with your results after adequate healing, a revision rhinoplasty could address your tip...
