I was lifting some bags grabbing a hold of them with my arm and I felt some pain. Similar to a bruise. Then I noticed a small lump on my inner arm. The next day the lump seems to have grown and it's become a very visible bump. I had a routine appointment with my gynecologist today (had nothing to do with the lipoma) and she said it looks like one. Is the pain normal and especially the fact that it appeared so fast?

Lipomas are benign fatty tumors that occur under the skin and less commonly within the muscle. They are associated with mild discomfort and a lump underneath the skin. It is always best to talk to an expert plastic surgeon to determine whether the lipoma is possibly a cyst or a tumor or hernia....
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Surgery is typically avoided for pregnant patients so I would wait until after delivery of your second child before seeking mass resolution. Hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. For most patients a lipoma removal can be performed in an office-based setting under local anesthesia. Hope this helps.
