Its my fourth day of buccal fat removal. Very swollen. Any suggestions?

It is normal and common to have swelling after the buccal fat pad removal.In muy practice I tell my patients they will get swollen after buccal fat pad removal to the point that it seems surgery wasn't done or they look more chubby that before surgery. The swelling resolution could take from few days in fast healers to few weeks to slow healers. I recommend my patients to hear a compression bandage around the face for at least 5 days as well as sleep with the head of bed elevated to decrease swelling formation post surgery.Patients with questions and concerns about their healling process post buccal fat pad removal should ask for advice to their plastic surgeon.
