I have a very rectangular shaped head, and because my chin sits kind of higher (small chin?), it accentuates this. I would like my chin/jaw to be more prominent (bring my chin down a little bit to elongate my face a bit). I've attached a photo of my actual side profile, and then what I'd like my side profile to look like. What's my best bet here? Implant? Fillers?
Answer: Chin implant surgery may be considered. Based on your computer Imaging, you may benefit from a medium-sized chin implant for an additional 9 mm of chin projection on profile. Please consider visiting a reputable facial plastic surgeon so you could see what might be best for you moving forward. Thank you for this question! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Chin implant - double chin - jawline - liposuction thank you for your question. Based on the provided pictures, reduction of the fat and skin redrapping or tightening will already result in a better defined jawline. If wished, a chin implant can add more projection to the chin and alter its shape. Patients who prefer not to have a chin implant, a gliding genioplasty can be another option. Fillers are a poor choice in my opinion in these type of cases. The gel-like consistancy does not withstand the forces of the muscles, migrates, and very often it just looks weired. Fillers have their role in aesthetic medicine, but often they are overused for the wrong indications. I hope this helps.

Answer: Chin implant The best result would be a chin implant. A chin implant is permanent and fillers are not and dissolve. This is done through an intra-oral approach under general anesthesia and costs $4,000. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Chin augmentation and shaping These photos do not offer enough information for a good advice. However, it is very likely that chin augmentation with implant would be a good solution. In person or teleconference consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in chin surgery would give you a chance to discuss more details and possibly have 3D simulation. Good luck.

Answer: Elongating chin , more prominent jaw Thank you for posting your question here!My answer will based on the limited information and data provided, for a detailed and bespoke plan please consult with your plastic surgeon. The answer will depend on how invasive and permanent of a result you are looking for. additionally an in person consult will usually provide more insight on what needs to be done (in certain individuals it is the deeper structures in the neck that cause the angle to look more obtuse and in those individuals a neck lift is the answer , others it is supra-platysmal fat which can be addressed with lipo , while in others it is just the bone structure "recessed chin etc"). from your pictures it looks like you can probably achieve your desired results (sharper jawline and chin elongation) through either implants or filler , implants tend to be more permanent but more invasive while fillers are less permanent but less invasive , each carries it's own benefit and potential complications, make sure to discuss those issues with your plastic surgeon so that they can come up with a plan that will work for you!I hope this helps, Best of luck!
